I am originally from Savannah, GA and have been in this area for close to 10 years. I have 2 sons who keep me thoroughly entertained whether we're exploring outside or they're trying to educate me about the latest game. While I enjoy the mountains, I also try to make time every year to get back to the beach.
Before healthcare I was a welder and metal fabricator. My journey as a nurse began as an RN on a busy medical surgical floor. In that role I came across people with a wide range of health needs including mental health care. I discovered that providing for this population was my passion and I wanted to learn as much as I could. This introduced me to psychiatric nursing and the desire to pursue a masters' degree as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
I believe in the respectful, compassionate treatment of my patients and building a trusting relationship. I think health literacy and education are important components of the treatment plan because they give patients the confidence to participate in their plan of care. I enjoy connecting with my patients, getting to know them, and seeing them find the relief they deserve.
